Exempt Job Summary:
The EHS Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses. Provide EHS training and education to employees. Maintain EHS documentation and records. Collaborate with management and employees to promote a safe working environment. Oversee hazardous waste management and emergency response plans. Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics. Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective solutions. Proficiency in EHS management software and tools. Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
