Job Description:
Shirley Parsons is partnering with a specialty chemical manufacturer to identify and hire a dynamic Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) leader to join their team. This person will be advancing and reinforcing a workplace culture focused on safety and environmental stewardship within warehouse, manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments. This person will be the sole safety professional onsite and will report directly to General Manager of the company.
The Role:
Lead the creation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of the company's safety, environmental, and health programs, ensuring all policies and procedures meet regulatory requirements and support continuous improvement. Oversee the facility's safety committees and carry out EHS inspections and audits in collaboration with committee members and site leadership. Deliver training to employees on EHS policies, programs, and procedures, and ensure all required documentation is properly created and maintained. Create and uphold procedures for investigating incidents and near?miss events, and implement corrective measures as needed.
The Candidate:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational or Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or other EHS related field preferred. Detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other applicable industry environmental, health and safety standards. Certification in an EHS related discipline and/or further education is a plus. 8+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment, chemical manufacturing preferred. Excellent communication across all level and a deep commercial insight paired with the capability to shape decisions among senior leadership.
