Location:
Regional (Field-Based, ~50% Travel Required) - Southeastern Region, Central Region, Texas Region The Claims and Safety Manager plays a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and responsive work environment across Proman's light-industrial and clerical operations. This position is responsible for developing and implementing safety programs while also managing all aspects of the Workers' Compensation claims process. The role blends proactive loss control with strategic claims management to reduce incident frequency, severity, and associated costs. Key Responsibilities Safety & Loss Control Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and training programs tailored to the light-industrial staffing environment. Conduct site safety audits, client assessments, and internal reviews to proactively identify and address potential hazards. Lead investigations into accidents and near-misses, performing root cause analysis and coordinating corrective actions. Monitor and analyze injury trends; provide actionable recommendations to reduce risk exposure and enhance safety outcomes. Deliver targeted safety training for internal teams (Sales, On-Site, Branch, etc.) and oversee the dissemination of monthly/quarterly safety topics. Review safety components of new client onboarding, including job classifications, OSHA history, and risk ratings. Address OSHA-related matters, including citations and investigations, in coordination with field staff and clients. Promote a culture of safety awareness through alerts, campaigns, and regular communication. Workers' Compensation Claims Management Oversee the entire Workers' Compensation claims lifecycle, working closely with the Third-Party Administrator (TPA). Review reserves (indemnity, medical, expense) and engage adjusters to ensure accurate and timely claim handling. Conduct data analysis to identify claims patterns, drive strategic recommendations, and inform loss-prevention strategies. Partner with legal counsel, medical providers, and internal stakeholders to manage claims efficiently and support favorable outcomes. Facilitate return-to-work strategies, ensuring smooth reintegration of injured employees where applicable. Provide regular reports to leadership, including claims trends, cost drivers, risk exposure, and compliance metrics. Ensure thorough documentation for audits, compliance, and ongoing program evaluation. This is not an all-inclusive list of duties and may include other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in safety, risk management, or related field. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation statutes. Strong analytical and investigative skills; ability to synthesize data and draw insights. Proven ability to lead training initiatives, conduct audits, and manage compliance activities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management systems.
