This role is responsible for ensuring a safe workplace, meeting OSHA, EPA, DOT, DOL and other regulatory requirements, supporting
ISO/IATF/TISAX
readiness, driving continuous improvement of safety systems (LOTO, machine guarding, PPE), conducting audits and investigations, and fostering a strong safety culture across manufacturing, maintenance and contract teams. Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive EHS and regulatory compliance programs specific to metal stamping, stamping press operations and fabrication processes. Conduct routine and ad-hoc safety and environmental inspections, risk assessments and compliance audits; prepare and track corrective action plans until closure. Design, implement and enforce LOTO, machine guarding, PPE and other engineering and administrative controls; work with maintenance and engineering on risk-reduction projects. Manage incident reporting and investigation processes (root cause analysis), implement corrective/preventive actions and report trends to leadership. Maintain environmental compliance including permits, waste management, air/water reporting and coordination with regulatory agencies (EPA, state/local authorities). Lead and support internal and external audits for OSHA, EPA, DOT, DOL, EEOC, ISO/IATF/TISAX and customer-driven assessments; prepare audit documentation and drive remediation. Develop and deliver targeted training programs (safety orientation, machine-specific, LOTO, PPE, confined space, hazardous materials, first aid/CPR) and coach front-line supervisors and employees. Coordinate emergency response planning, drills and first responder programs; ensure first aid/CPR/AED readiness and supplies. Partner with HR and operations on contractor safety, return-to-work, disciplinary and accommodation processes to ensure regulatory alignment. Track, analyze and report safety and environmental metrics (TRIR, DART, near-misses, audit scores); lead continuous improvement initiatives and safety culture campaigns. Serve as primary contact for inspectors and external agencies; lead corrective actions from regulatory visits and maintain accurate compliance records. Qualifications Bachelors degree preferred but not required Minimum 5 years progressive EHS/safety experience in a manufacturing environment Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards, EPA, DOT, DOL and EEOC requirements and reporting. Hands-on experience with LOTO programs, machine guarding assessments, PPE programs, and safety program implementation. Experience conducting and managing internal and external audits and corrective action processes; familiarity with
ISO 45001/14001, IATF
16949 and TISAX is highly desirable.
Professional certifications preferred:
CSP, CHST, CIH, or equivalent; Certified Safety Professional or similar is a plus. Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain quickly. Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred to support a diverse workforce and contractor base.
