Full Job Description Responsibilities:
The Manager, Wound Care serves as a leader and clinical resource/consultant in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients with ostomies, wounds, fistulae, incontinence, and actual or potential skin breakdown. This professional nurse leader focuses on safe and effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards & policies; supports patient safety & a non-punitive reporting environment; participates in quality improvement process; articulates the link between organization metrics & national quality initiatives/metrics; monitors environment for areas of risk & liability. Manages financial resources based on business plans/general accounting principles; develops & implements retention strategies; provides coaching, counseling, & mentoring; promotes a safe staff & patient environment; participates in evaluation of technology. Communicates effectively; builds trusting collaborative relationships with staff, peers, physicians, and other services/disciplines. Fosters an environment that recognizes & values diversity; represents the organization & provides consultation to the community; promotes shared decision making; promotes community involvement. Holds self & others accountable for actions & outcomes; creates an environment where professional & personal growth is an expectation; creates an environment for high ethical standards; utilizes evidence based practice; ensures nurses are actively involved in decisions that affect their practice; participations in professional organizations. Provides leadership in building loyalty & commitment; serves as a professional role model & mentor; develops a succession plan for their own position; serves as a change agent; adapts leadership style to situational needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
Three years in nursing.
Bachelor Degree Registered Nurse Desired:
Master Degree Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse
