Job Description:
Position Title Project Health & Safety Manager About This Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Project Health & Safety Manager to lead all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities for the construction of large-scale semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while proactively managing the unique risks associated with semiconductor construction, including hazardous chemicals, cleanroom environments, and high-tech equipment installation. What You'll Do Health & Safety Program Leadership Develop, implement, and continuously improve project-specific Health & Safety Management Systems (HSMS). Establish and enforce site safety policies aligned with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local regulations. Integrate industry best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Risk Assessment & Hazard Management Lead job hazard analyses (JHA), risk assessments, and hazard identification activities. Manage chemical safety programs including storage, handling, labeling, and disposal. Oversee industrial hygiene programs such as air monitoring, noise assessments, and PPE compliance. Regulatory Compliance & Audits Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate safety requirements. Lead internal and external safety audits and regulatory inspections. Maintain accurate safety documentation and regulatory records. Incident & Emergency Management Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Implement corrective and preventive action plans. Develop and conduct emergency response drills for chemical spills, fires, and evacuations. Training & Safety Culture Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors. Conduct regular safety meetings and safety leadership walks. Promote a strong safety culture emphasizing accountability and proactive reporting. Equipment & Facility Safety Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to integrate safety into equipment and facility design. Ensure implementation of lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and permit-to-work systems. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with construction, engineering, quality, and HR teams to integrate safety into all project activities. Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
Experience:
15+ years of health and safety experience, preferably in semiconductor or large industrial construction projects.
Certifications:
CSP, CIH, or CHMM strongly preferred.
