|[Kansas City] We are seeking an experienced construction Safety Manager for a design-build mechanical contractor in the Kansas City metro. This role leads all safety programs, compliance, training, and job site evaluation across a portfolio of commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects. You'll work closely with project teams and field crews to build and sustain a proactive safety culture — not just check boxes. This is a high-visibility role in a growing company with direct access to leadership and real authority to make an impact. Anticipate $100,000 - $110,000 (+/-)

Location:

Lenexa, KS (In-Office + Job Site Visits as required) — Full-Time (No Remote)

Overview:

Develop, implement, and continuously improve company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures Conduct regular job site safety evaluations and audits across all active construction projects Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and client-specific requirements Lead all PPE programs and enforce safety protocols consistently across field crews Design and deliver safety training and education initiatives for all employees and crews Partner proactively with project managers and field leadership to identify and mitigate risks before incidents occur Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns; recommend and implement corrective actions Maintain required safety documentation, records, and reporting

Preferred Skills/Experience:

OSHA 30 certification required; CHST or CSP strongly preferred Degree in occupational safety, construction management, or a related field preferred (not required) 5+ years of construction safety experience — mechanical, industrial, or commercial construction preferred Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job site safety best practices Experience in commercial or industrial construction environments Hands-on and field-oriented — comfortable on job sites, not just in the office Strong communicator with the ability to influence field crews and senior leadership alike Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to hold crews and leadership accountable
