This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety during critical maintenance operations involving mechanical systems, elevated work, confined space entry, equipment maintenance, and outage-related activities within an active powerhouse environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety professional who understands the unique hazards associated with power generation facilities and industrial maintenance work. Required Qualifications
OSHA 510
Certification 5+ years of construction safety experience Powerhouse or power generation facility experience required Fall Protection and Confined Space Preferred Qualifications Power plant maintenance or outage experience Industrial mechanical maintenance experience Experience supporting contractors in active industrial facilities CPR/First Aid Certification CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential What You'll Be Doing Oversee daily safety activities for maintenance operations within an active power generation facility Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements Oversee confined space entry activities and permit compliance Support and enforce fall protection programs and elevated work procedures Monitor maintenance activities involving mechanical equipment and industrial systems Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project Technical Knowledge Candidates should have working knowledge of: OSHA Construction Standards Power Generation Facility Safety Industrial Maintenance Safety Confined Space Entry Programs Fall ProtectionElevated Work Activities Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Hot Work Activities Mechanical Equipment Maintenance Contractor Safety Management Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development Incident InvestigationRoot Cause Analysis Construction Risk AssessmentMitigation Permit-Required Work Activities What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate is a highly visible, field-focused safety professional who can effectively support maintenance crews, proactively identify hazards, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely within an active power generation environment.
