As the Safety/Risk Manager of Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA), you will coordinate and direct the agency-wide safety program, including risk management, loss prevention, safety, accident prevention, emergency preparedness, and related staff training. The Safety/Risk Managere reports to the Facility Asset & Risk Management (FARM) Director. JPHSA helps individuals and families in Jefferson Parish affected by mental illness, addictive disorders, and developmental disabilities to live full, healthy, independent, and productive lives. JPHSA, a Local Governing Entity has been serving the community since 1989 and operates from three facilities located in Metairie, Elmwood and Marrero. Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) is a Louisiana Local Governing Entity (LGE) and special district established by state law to administer behavioral health, developmental disabilities, and related services in Jefferson Parish. JPHSA is governed by an independent Board of Directors and is not a department of Jefferson Parish government.

If eligible Free, nearby parking Responsibilities Functions as the agency's authority for safety, risk management, emergency preparedness, and operational loss prevention activities. Chairs the JPHSA Safety Committee. Documents, tracks and updates JPHSA agency vehicle safety inspections. Provides detailed analyses of safety-related incidents/accidents. Conducts or coordinates inspections related to fire/life safety systems, means of egress, emergency lighting, hazard conditions and general workplace safety. Establishes housekeeping/janitorial and hazard control practices for recognizing, inspecting, preventing, controlling and eliminating safety hazards prior to injury, illness and/or property damage. Manages loss prevention activities to prevent and reduce staff member job-related accidents, injuries, and property losses. Ensures mandatory trainings are current and facilitates other emergency preparedness training as needed, including developing training materials and ensuring documentation of staff member participation. Qualifications and Skills Five years of experience in safety inspection or training, emergency preparedness, safety education or promotion, risk management, or administrative services Positive, proactive, and solution-focused Adaptable communication skills and ability to interact effectively at different levels with different audiences Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, respect organizational hierarchy, and incorporate feedback into work products and performance Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams and basic research tools Contact Put your skills to work for the greater good.
