Job Description

The Regional Safety Manager will participate and proactively administer established plans, programs, and policies that relate to the safety and wellbeing of the company, its employees, and associates. This position will support projects to address risk to company personnel and property. The Regional Safety Manager will support a safety culture and will assist with and contribute to this safety culture via multiple resources throughout all locations and divisions. Up to 2 weeks' travel per month may be required. The Regional Safety Manager shall have a comprehensive knowledge of DOT, EPA, MSHA, and OSHA regulations, as well as the FMCSA and its components. This position must also have knowledge of fleet safety and accident investigations. The Safety Manager will report directly to the Director of Safety.
Responsibilities:
The Safety Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. 1) Responsible for the knowledge and enforcement of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including but not limited to compliance, training, audits, and CSA Basics. 2) Supporting and exercising a safety culture and plan centered on the safety and well-being of all employees and associates, including customers and the general public. 3) Coordination, follow-through, reporting, record keeping, and review of accident investigations, as required by the Director of Safety. 4) Knowledge of Drug and Alcohol testing policies. 5) Execute and coordinate required safety training and refresher training for all personnel. 6) Participate and support safety-related programs, policies, and procedures 7) Performing Road Tests documenting driver/Independent Contractor results. 8) Conducts equipment, building, and grounds surveys on a periodic and regular basis to detect violations, hazards, and incorrect work practices and procedures. 9) Conducting Random inspections of I/C and Company Tractors in the field, reporting and managing the process where equipment defects found are corrected and/or putting equipment OOS, if not meeting DOT regulations. 10) Any miscellaneous duties required to develop, maintain, and manage the safety culture and overall safety of its employees and associates in the support of operations. 11) Participate, contribute, and conduct all safety committee and company safety meetings. 12) Conduct company safety meetings as required.
Pay:
$80,000.00 per year
