Elmira, MI SUMMARY Plans, directs, and coordinates environmental and safety activities for the site. Establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment. Maintain compliance with air, water, solid waste permits and regulations while meeting all health and safety regulations and policies. Carries out the corporate safety policy to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Ensure that all employees work proactively to reduce the risk of injury to themselves and their fellow employee. Uphold the company environmental policy which is to operate the business in full compliance with the letter and spirit of environmental laws and regulations. Strive for continuous process improvement and use production processes and controls that minimize the impact to the environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization. Promotes the company culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. Supervises personnel within the facility Environmental, Health and Safety Department. Formulates site safety policies and procedures for site employees in compliance with state and federal OSHA rules and regulations, and corporate safety requirements. Participates in incident investigations and assists in worker's compensation Compiles, submits and maintains all incident reports required by regulatory agencies, as well as internal reports and records. Assists with the administration of worker's compensation programs, including occupational rehabilitation, return to light duty concerns, disputed claims and settlement negotiations. Creates, supervises, and coordinates training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness. Works in conjunction with all foundry departments to maintain environmental compliance. Maintains all facility permits covering equipment and process material for air, water, and solid waste areas (i.e. Title V, NPDES, Stormwater). Maintains all site-specific environmental recordkeeping and reporting functions (i.e. SARA Tier II, FormR, MAERS
reports). Assists in selecting contractors and consultants and manages their efforts in specific health and safety, environmental project areas (i.e. stack testing, industrial hygiene testing). Coordinates disposal of all foundry residual materials (i.e. solid waste, waste oil, and waste coolants). Plans and coordinates recycling activities for foundry by-products and maintains material records. Works with local, state and federal regulatory agency personnel to maintain permit requirements, and inspect process operations, and maintain required records. Promotes company and industry environmental interests through participation with appropriate industry associations. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Safety and Health & Safety Official, CHMM Certification, and Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred qualifications.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
