Monday-Friday | 40-50 Hours Per Week | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturdays as Needed Required Qualifications OSHA 30 Certification 5+ years of construction safety management experience Preferred Qualifications NABCEP Certification (PV Associate, PV Installer, or Higher) Solar construction experience Renewable energy project experience Utility-scale construction experience CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential Why This Opportunity? Join a solar contractor supporting a utility-scale solar construction project in Jackson, MI. This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety activities for solar array installation, civil construction, equipment operations, material handling, and daily field operations while supporting a growing renewable energy industry. This position also offers the potential to transition into a full-time W2 role upon successful project completion. What You'll Be Doing Oversee daily safety activities for solar construction operations Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements Support and enforce fall protection programs and site-specific safety procedures Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation Deliver new hire orientations and ongoing safety training Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards Monitor equipment operations, material handling activities, and field work practices Promote a positive safety culture across the project Technical Knowledge Candidates should have working knowledge of: OSHA Construction Standards Solar Construction Safety Utility-Scale Renewable Energy Projects Fall ProtectionElevated Work Activities Material Handling Operations Heavy Equipment Safety ExcavationTrenching Awareness Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development Incident InvestigationRoot Cause Analysis Contractor Safety Management Construction Risk AssessmentMitigation Electrical Hazard Awareness CommercialIndustrial Construction Safety Best Practices What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate is a field-focused safety professional who can build relationships with craft personnel, maintain compliance, identify risks before incidents occur, and support project teams in safely executing work while maintaining production goals.
