Job Description
Job Summary Hi-Tech Electric Company is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Safety Director to lead, manage, and continuously improve our company-wide safety program. This position is responsible for ensuring that Hi-Tech Electric maintains a strong safety culture across all field operations, service work, prefabrication activities, industrial maintenance, commercial construction, and special projects. The Safety Director will oversee
OSHA/MIOSHA
compliance, NFPA 70E electrical safety practices, jobsite safety audits, employee training, incident investigation, corrective action tracking, customer site compliance, subcontractor safety expectations, and company safety documentation. This role requires a hands-on leader who can work effectively with field electricians, foremen, project managers, service technicians, ownership, customers, general contractors, insurance representatives, and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will understand the electrical construction industry, be comfortable working in fast-paced field environments, and have the ability to balance compliance, coaching, accountability, and practical field execution. Duties Lead and manage Hi-Tech Electric's company-wide safety program across construction, service, maintenance, prefabrication, and industrial project environments. Ensure compliance withOSHA, MIOSHA, NFPA
70E, company safety policies, customer-specific safety rules, and applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements. Develop, maintain, and enforce safety policies, procedures, training programs, and field safety expectations. Conduct regular jobsite safety audits, inspections, observations, and field coaching visits. Work directly with foremen, project managers, superintendents, service leaders, and field employees to identify hazards and correct unsafe conditions. Support daily Job Safety Analyses, pre-task planning, hazard recognition, and jobsite safety communication. Lead and document weekly toolbox talk programs, safety stand-downs, safety alerts, and lessons-learned communications. ManageNFPA 70E
electrical safety compliance, including arc flash awareness, energized work controls, electrical safe work practices, PPE requirements, approach boundaries, and lockout/tagout expectations. Review and enforce Lockout/Tagout procedures for energized equipment and electrical maintenance activities. Support the review and approval process for energized electrical work, hot work, confined space, excavation, lift, and other high-risk work activities. Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, property damage, and unsafe conditions; lead root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up. MaintainOSHA/MIOSHA

compliance. Coordinate with insurance carriers, third-party safety platforms, customer safety portals, and prequalification systems as required. Assist with customer site orientations, contractor prequalification requirements, and project-specific safety plans. Support onboarding and new-hire safety orientation for field and office personnel. Evaluate subcontractor safety compliance when subcontractors are used on Hi-Tech Electric projects. Promote and enforce a Stop Work Authority culture where employees are empowered to stop unsafe work without fear of retaliation. Assist leadership in building a proactive safety culture based on Safety, Professionalism, Accountability, Respect, and Quality. Stay current onOSHA, MIOSHA, NFPA 70E, NFPA
70B, NEC, NECA, electrical construction safety, and industry best practices. Travel to job sites, customer facilities, and company locations as needed. Experience Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in construction, electrical construction, industrial maintenance, utility, manufacturing, or a related field. Strong working knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA safety standards. Strong understanding of electrical construction hazards and electrical safe work practices. Knowledge ofNFPA 70E
electrical safety requirements, including arc flash hazards, energized work, PPE, approach boundaries, and lockout/tagout. Experience conducting jobsite safety audits, incident investigations, employee training, and corrective action follow-up. Ability to read and understand safety policies, project requirements, customer site rules, and regulatory guidance. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to coach, train, and hold employees accountable in a professional and consistent manner. Comfortable working with field personnel, foremen, project managers, customers, general contractors, and executive leadership. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate safety documentation. Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, digital forms, safety tracking systems, and customer compliance portals. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.Pay:
