Full-Time About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Health & Safety to lead the company's corporate safety program across commercial construction operations. This executive leadership position is responsible for developing and executing safety strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing organizational risk, and fostering a culture where safety is a core company value. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Director of Health & Safety will oversee the organization's safety initiatives, provide leadership to the safety team, and partner with operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project execution.
Responsibilities:
Lead and continuously improve the company's corporate health and safety program. Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to Safety Managers and field safety personnel. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and program evaluations across multiple construction projects. Develop and implement company-wide safety policies, procedures, and best practices. Oversee accident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and return-to-work initiatives. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements. Manage OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, and regulatory communications. Partner with operations to identify hazards, reduce risk, and improve overall safety performance. Oversee workers' compensation processes and assist in reducing claims and experience modification rates. Develop and coordinate employee safety training programs. Review subcontractor safety qualifications and job-specific safety programs. Represent the company with clients, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum 10 years of progressive construction safety experience, including leadership responsibilities. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or a related field. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and workers' compensation practices. Demonstrated experience leading corporate safety programs across multiple construction projects. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) The ideal candidate is a strategic safety leader who is equally effective in the field and the boardroom.
