Certified Food Safety Manager / ServSafe TrainerPosition Summary We are seeking an experienced and certified Food Safety Manager to oversee food safety operations for our mobile food trailer. The ideal candidate will possess a current ServSafe Manager Certification and have extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation procedures, temperature control, and Michigan food code requirements. This individual will train staff members, ensure compliance with health department regulations, and serve as the primary point of contact during health inspections to help ensure successful inspection outcomes. Responsibilities Train employees on safe food handling procedures. Teach proper handwashing, cleaning, sanitizing, and cross-contamination prevention. Ensure proper hot and cold holding temperatures are maintained. Monitor food storage, labeling, and date marking practices. Train staff on personal hygiene and food safety standards. Establish and maintain cleaning and sanitizing schedules. Ensure compliance with Wayne County and Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) food regulations. Conduct mock inspections and prepare the trailer for health department inspections. Maintain food safety logs and temperature records. Be present during health department inspections and act as the designated food safety representative and point of contact for inspectors. Answer inspection questions and demonstrate knowledge of food safety procedures and regulatory requirements. Assist with developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the operation. Qualifications Current ServSafe Manager Certification (required). Previous experience in restaurants, catering, or mobile food operations preferred. Thorough understanding of sanitation, food temperatures, cross-contamination prevention, and Michigan food code requirements. Experience working with health department inspections. Strong leadership and training skills. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and inspectors. Position Type Part-time or Contract Position Flexible hours Must be available during scheduled health inspections and special events. Preferred Experience Mobile food truck or food trailer operations. Health inspection preparation and compliance. Staff training and development. HACCP principles and food safety recordkeeping. Compensation Competitive hourly rate or flat fee based on experience and availability.

$100.00 - $300.00 per day
