Position:
The OSHA Safety Managers are responsible for designing effective safety programs, monitoring safety compliance and reporting safety issues and report to Director. OSHA safety managers must identify potential hazards and recommend solutions and ways to prevent them from reoccurring.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- OSHA related accident and incident investigations
- Determine probable causes and make recommendations for corrective action.
- Conduct Shop Safety meetings.
- Manages monthly Luma safety training.
- Manages Data Q challenges for accidents.
- Manages Safety process oversite.
- Coach, Counsel & Disciple Drivers based on Performance History
- Analyze CSA Scores
- Audit Driver Daily Logs
- Develop Initiatives to achieve Safety Compliance Improvements under CSA
- Develop Recommendations for Driver Action Plans/Consequences for Non-compliance
- Train drivers in Federal, State and Local Regulations
- Recommend Monthly Training Activities for Drivers & Dispatch
- Develop Proposals for Safety Policy Updates
- Create SOPs and Compliance Tracking Tools for Safety
- Track Driver & Company CSA Performance over time to ensure initiatives are achieving desired results.
- Communicate with Regulatory Agency Representatives as required.
- Participate in
Regulatory Audit Actions:
FMCSA- Assist drivers with logging questions/issues
- Complete Initial Incident/Accident Reports as called in by Drivers
- Update weekly Driver Safety Coaching List
- Review Driver Vehicle Inspection Report violations for DataQ's and Write DataQ submissions as needed.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Experience in transportation or logistics required.
Recommended:
OSHA Certification and/or Secondary Certifications such as NATMI Safety Supervisor or Safety Director Courses/Certification- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
