Job Description

FOOD SAFETY & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT POSITION SUMMARY
Based primarily in Kansas City with support to Atlanta, GA and Hot Springs, AR, this role strengthens food safety systems, regulatory compliance, and operational consistency across all manufacturing facilities. It drives audit readiness, cross-functional accountability, and continuous improvement, offering future leadership growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Food Safety & Compliance:
Maintain and improve food safety systems (SQF, HACCP, FSMA, GMP, FDA, USDA, Organic, Kosher). Assist with HACCP/Preventive Controls plans. Coordinate internal, third-party, and regulatory audits. Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints via root cause analysis. Support traceability, allergen control, and sanitation verification.
Operational Support:
Ensure operational consistency across sites. Partner with plant leadership to implement SOPs and improve process efficiency. Facilitate communication between production, warehouse, sanitation, and maintenance. Conduct periodic site visits for training and audits.
Training & Documentation:
Deliver compliance training (GMP, HACCP, allergens). Maintain organized records (SOPs, audit findings, regulatory files). Fulfill customer documentation requests (ingredient statements, specs).
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor s degree preferred (Food Science, Microbiology, QA, or Operations).
Experience:
2-5 years in food manufacturing, food safety, quality systems, or regulatory compliance.
Knowledge:
Prior experience with SQF, HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, or GFSI systems strongly preferred.
Skills:
Solid organization, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office. Certifications (Preferred):
HACCP, PCQI, SQF
Practitioner.
POSITION DETAILS
Travel:
Periodic travel to Atlanta, GA and Hot Springs, AR for audits and training.
Work Environment:
Splits time between office and food manufacturing plants. Requires periodic work in production areas (exposure to noise, machinery, temperature changes). PPE required.
