Available (case-by-case)Job DescriptionOverviewA large tertiary care hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking a Director of Patient Safety to lead and advance a comprehensive patient safety program.This role focuses on eliminating preventable harm, strengthening safety culture, and driving system-wide reliability across a high-acuity healthcare environment.
The Director will partner closely with executive and clinical leadership to implement safety initiatives, develop teams, and improve measurable outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesLead hospital-wide patient safety strategy and program implementationIdentify, analyze, and mitigate patient safety risksDrive safety culture initiatives and high-reliability practicesPartner with executive, physician, and clinical leadersOversee patient safety education and staff developmentSupport event review, root cause analysis, and corrective action planningMonitor and report on patient safety metrics and outcomesCollaborate with risk management and quality teamsEngage patients and families in safety initiatives
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare-related field3-5+ years of direct patient safety experience (required)Experience in a hospital or clinical care settingCertified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or ability to obtain within 1 yearPreferred:
Master's DegreeClinical background (RN, etc.)Experience in high-acuity or large hospital environmentsCritical Requirement:
