Job Description

About The Role Coordinate the development and implementation of plant safety/health programs and plant environmental compliance programs in support of regulation guidelines, standards, and applicable regulations. Provide on-site guidance and assistance to plant staff in achieving superior safety/health and environmental performance. Responsibilities Provide leadership and administration to the safety program by developing and driving execution of plans. Responsible for leadership and professional development of direct reports. Develop and implement safety and health programs to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety & health standards. Review all safety programs annually for compliance with current OSHA regulations. Manage environmental programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations including but not limited to air permitting, hazardous, non-hazardous wastes collection, disposal, and storm water management. Prepare and submit all required environmental reporting. Manage incident investigations and return to work program. Develop, implement, and track employee safety/health training and plant environmental training in support of written programs. Perform periodic safety and environmental audits. Develop recommendations for improvement. Develop, track, analyze, and communicate plant safety statistics and plant environmental reporting and statistics including but not limited to hazardous waste generator status, Title V air emissions, SARA 312 and 313 usage and reporting requirements, etc. Coordinate Trail King involvement with OSHA and regulatory inspections. Requires approximately 20% travel between company locations to support operational needs and collaboration across facilities. Candidate Requirements 4-year degree or a minimum of 5 years' experience in developing and managing safety/health and environmental programs. Experienced in industrial safety, health protection, environmental protections, and regulatory compliance. Personal Trait Profile Advanced understanding and working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. Proficient computer skills in MS Office and database programs. Self-starter, excellent people skills, strong personal leadership, organizational skills, oral and written communication skills. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job in the factory areas, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and is near moving machinery.
