We're recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturer in Hawthorne, NJ seeking an experienced Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager to lead quality, food safety, sanitation, and compliance programs within a fast-paced Meat manufacturing environment. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving food safety culture, regulatory compliance, sanitation excellence, and continuous improvement across the facility. The ideal candidate will bring strong USDA and SQF knowledge, hands-on manufacturing experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a production environment. Why This Role Stands Out Leadership opportunity within a growing food manufacturing business High-impact role overseeing QA, food safety, and sanitation operations Strong cross-functional exposure with Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain Opportunity to drive continuous improvement and modernize systems/processes Visible role with direct influence on plant standards and compliance performance Key ResponsibilitiesFood Safety & Quality Leadership Develop, implement, and maintain food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation programs Ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, SQF, GMP, and customer-specific requirements Maintain and continuously improve the site Food Safety & Quality Management System Lead investigations into food safety, quality, and sanitation deviations using root cause analysis and CAPA methodologies Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, compliance, and operational performance Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop QA and sanitation teams Foster a proactive food safety and quality culture across the facility Deliver employee training on food safety, GMPs, sanitation, and quality standards Partner with Operations to ensure accountability and execution on the production floor Audits, Compliance & Reporting Serve as the primary site contact for USDA, customer, and third-party audits Prepare the facility for inspections and ensure ongoing audit readiness Monitor regulatory updates and implement required changes Maintain accurate QA documentation, testing records, sanitation records, and compliance reporting Analyze quality metrics and communicate performance trends to leadership Production & Supplier Quality Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to established quality and hygiene standards Support new product launches by establishing food safety and quality standards Evaluate raw materials and supplier quality performance Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues
