Environmental Supervisor Job Description The Environmental Supervisor oversees on-site environmental compliance and safety on construction projects, serving as the primary liaison for environmental oversight and coordination. This role requires a consistent on-site presence, close collaboration with project leadership, and diligent documentation to support a safe and compliant work environment. Responsibilities Serve as the on-site liaison for environmental oversight on active construction projects. Report to the project site daily to monitor environmental and safety conditions. Coordinate closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to align environmental oversight with project activities and schedules. Assist in the development and review of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to identify and control potential hazards. Participate in and assist with toolbox talks to promote safety awareness and environmental best practices among site personnel. Prepare and submit detailed daily reports documenting site conditions, environmental observations, safety activities, and any issues or incidents. Support the implementation of construction supervision practices that prioritize safety and environmental compliance. Communicate clearly with site teams to reinforce adherence to safety and environmental requirements. Essential Skills Current 40-hour OSHA certification. Experience in construction supervision within an active jobsite environment. Demonstrated safety experience in a construction setting. Ability to conduct and assist with Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Ability to contribute to and support toolbox talks and safety meetings. Strong on-site presence and reliability, with the ability to report to the jobsite daily. Effective communication and coordination skills with field and project management teams. Strong attention to detail in preparing accurate daily reports. Additional Skills & Qualifications Environmental oversight or environmental compliance on construction projects. Familiarity with construction safety best practices and procedures. Ability to build collaborative working relationships with superintendents, project managers, and field staff. Strong organizational skills to manage daily reporting and documentation. Motivation to contribute to a large, long-term portfolio of construction work with a significant project backlog. Work Environment This role is based on an active construction site and requires daily on-site presence. You will work closely with superintendents, project managers, and field personnel in a fast-paced environment with ongoing construction activities. The position involves regular field walks, participation in toolbox talks, and hands-on involvement in safety and environmental oversight. You will use standard construction safety and reporting tools, and you will operate within a structured environment supported by a large institutional organization with a substantial backlog of projects, offering long-term stability and continuous project exposure. Attire should be appropriate for a construction site, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with site safety policies.
