Job Description

Director, Environmental Health, Safety & Compliance (EHS)Position Overview Our client in the Raritan area is seeking a EHS Director to lead and build the company's in-house EHS function as it transitions away from outsourced support. This is a newly established leadership role with significant visibility and impact across the organization.

The Director of EHS will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and will initially operate as a standalone leader, with one direct report expected. This position requires travel to multiple sites up to 25%. This role is paying within the range of $130-150k base salary depending on experience. This role also offers benefits (medical/dental/vision/401k and tuition reimbursement). Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of companywide environmental, health, safety, and compliance programsTransition EHS responsibilities from outsourced support to an effective internal functionPartner with operational leadership to drive a strong culture of safety, compliance, and accountabilityEnsure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulationsConduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, and implement corrective actions as neededDevelop and deliver EHS training, policies, procedures, and reporting processesMonitor regulatory changes and ensure organizational readiness and complianceEstablish metrics, reporting, and performance indicators to evaluate program effectivenessProvide hands-on support to multiple sites and operational teams as neededSupport the onboarding and management of a direct report as the team structure develops
