Job Description

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager - Heavy Industrial Steel Environment Buffalo, New York $100,000 - $130,000 A leading steel fabrication manufacturer is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to champion safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across a dynamic production environment. This is a hands‑on, plant‑based leadership role with the authority to shape culture, elevate standards, and drive operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs across the facility Lead behaviour‑based safety initiatives and promote a strong safety‑first culture Conduct facility audits, track corrective actions, and ensure timely closure Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures Deliver engaging safety training for employees and contractors Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations Prepare and manage required safety documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping Serve as the primary point of contact for OSHA visits, insurance inspections, and regulatory agencies Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field (Equivalent practical experience will also be considered) Minimum 5 years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Strong working knowledge of
OSHA , EPA
, and relevant state/local regulations Proven success conducting audits, leading investigations, and driving CAPA initiatives Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with ERP or management systems Preferred certifications:
ASP , CSP , OSHA 500 , OSHA 30

$100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
