Roles & Responsibilities Job Title:
Manager (Fire Alarm & Fire Protection) Job Summary The Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Fire Alarm and Fire Protection division, ensuring the successful delivery of maintenance contracts, projects, and emergency services. The role is responsible for managing engineering teams, client relationships, project execution, safety compliance, and business performance. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Lead and manage the Fire Alarm and Fire Protection department. Plan, organize, and monitor maintenance, testing, commissioning, and project activities. Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Monitor project schedules, manpower allocation, and equipment utilization. Technical Management Provide technical guidance and support for fire alarm, sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, clean agent (FM-200), fire suppression, and emergency voice communication systems. Review technical proposals, method statements, risk assessments, and work procedures. Ensure compliance with Singapore Fire Code, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements, and relevant Singapore Standards. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors. Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs. Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Project & Service Management Oversee multiple maintenance contracts and installation projects simultaneously. Attend client meetings, site inspections, and project progress meetings. Resolve technical issues, customer complaints, and project challenges promptly. Ensure accurate documentation, service reports, and project records. Business Development & Commercial Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients. Prepare quotations, tender submissions, project costing, and budget proposals. Identify opportunities for contract renewals, upgrades, and new business. Monitor departmental revenue, profitability, and project costs to achieve business targets. Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure all works comply with company quality standards and statutory regulations. Conduct site audits and safety inspections. Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the fire protection industry, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role. Strong knowledge of fire alarm and fire protection systems, including maintenance and project execution. Familiarity with Singapore Fire Code, relevant Singapore Standards, and WSH regulations. Proven experience managing engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and client accounts. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and commercial management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with project management software is an advantage. Possess a valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence (preferred). Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Achieve on-time project completion and service delivery. Meet customer satisfaction and contract renewal targets. Deliver departmental revenue and profitability goals. Maintain high system uptime and low defect rates. Ensure zero major safety violations and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Develop and retain a high-performing engineering team. 5.5 working days Mon-Fri (8.30am -6.00pm) Saturday (9.00am - 1.00pm)
