Job Description

Job Summary:
Oversee workplace health and safety programs to protect employees, minimize hazards, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (such as OSHA). Lead incident investigations, conduct routine facility audits and safety inspections, and deliver comprehensive safety training to establish a strong, organization-wide safety culture.

None Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop and enforce workplace safety policies that align with local, state, and federal regulations. 2. Conduct routine site inspections and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's) to identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards. 3. Lead root-cause investigations of workplace accidents or injuries and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. 4. Plan and lead educational presentations, new-hire inductions, and ongoing safety workshops for all staff levels. 5. Conduct safety meetings and manage the Safety Committee. 6. Develop and manage Emergency Action Plans. 7. Maintain detailed logs of safety inspections, manage incident databases, and prepare reports for regulatory agencies. 8. Manage all aspects of the Al Sigl Safety Committee. 9. Use of online portal for data entry and time reporting.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with the VP of Operations on all capital projects, planning and budgeting so as to ensure safety is incorporated in all capital plans/projects. 2. Attend all meetings or conference calls as directed to do so by supervisor. 3. All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
1. High school graduate or equivalent required. 2. Supervisory experience desired. 3. Four to seven years of experience in safety management and programs. 4. Certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA-10 desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Deep understanding of occupational health standards, ergonomic requirements, and hazardous materials. 2. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate risks effectively and build trust with frontline workers and executive leadership. 3. Ability to think strategically to resolve emerging hazards and adapt safety budgets or systems. 4. Highly developed work ethic and sense of urgency in achieving results. 5. Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without immediate supervision. 6. Team mentality and ability to encourage and motivate people. 7. Abililty to function under stress and still maintain customer focus.
Special Requirements:
Must have flexibility to respond to changes in schedule due to emergency situations, special events, or immediate needs of tennants and customers. Will frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Will frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop and crouch in the performance of repairs. Must efficiently travel between offices, floors and buildings frequently. Must have valid New York State driver's license.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
