Job Description
Station Manager Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) Are you passionate about the airlines and aviation industry? AeroMag is a company that specializes in aircraft de-icing, the management of de-icing centers and the recycling of used de-icing products. Established in many airports across Canada, the United States, and the UK, Aeromag is recognized for its excellent customer service and its respect for the environment. The Station Manager - Syracuse is responsible for overseeing the operational performance of the Syracuse station, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant de-icing and station-related activities. This role combines strong operational leadership with selected general management responsibilities, serving as the primary point of contact for customers at the station while ensuring operational excellence, workforce capability, and adherence to corporate standards. The Station Manager provides full operational oversight of the Syracuse de-icing activities and maintenance functions. In addition, this position maintains people oversight for employees at the Syracuse Recycling Center, while operational responsibility for recycling activities remains with the Recycling Manager based in YUL. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong customer focus, and a high commitment to safety, training, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership Manage all station operations related to de-icing, snow removal, recovery support, and equipment maintenance Ensure strict adherence to operational, environmental, safety, and quality standards Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives Ensure proper supply and management of materials and glycol in collaboration with corporate teams Produce operational and environmental reports as required 2. Customer & Stakeholder Relations Act as the primary point of contact for airline representatives and airport authorities at Syracuse Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and stakeholders Address operational concerns and ensure service excellence Support corporate leadership in any station-related business discussions 3. People Management & Training Lead, supervise, and develop station employees, including mechanics and operational staff Oversee workforce planning, scheduling, and staffing requirements Ensure all employees are properly trained, certified, and compliant with corporate and airport operational standards Coordinate and deliver required operational and safety training (initial and recurrent) in alignment with corporate training programs Monitor employee qualifications and ensure training documentation is accurate and up to date Conduct performance evaluations and support talent development Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees Foster strong employee engagement and promote a culture aligned with company values 4. Recycling Center - Syracuse (People Oversight) Maintain leadership and people oversight of personnel working at the Syracuse Recycling Center Provide coaching, performance management, and workforce support to recycling staff Ensure alignment with corporate values, safety culture, and people practices Collaborate closely with the Recycling Manager (based in YUL), who retains full operational responsibility for recycling activities 5. Compliance, Safety & Governance Ensure enforcement of corporate policies, procedures, and code of conduct Maintain a strong health and safety culture and manage incidents and investigations as required Participate in management meetings and provide reporting to corporate leadership Advocate company mission, objectives, and operational excellence standardsQualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations management, station leadership, or industrial/aviation operations Proven experience managing teams in a safety-sensitive, operational environment Demonstrated ability to lead frontline teams, including mechanics and operational staff Strong knowledge of operational procedures, health and safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements Experience serving as a primary customer or stakeholder point of contact Proven ability to oversee training compliance, employee qualifications, and workforce development Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, coach, and hold teams accountable Solid organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) Valid driver's license and ability to meet airport security clearance requirements Experience in aviation, ground handling, de-icing, industrial services, or similar operational environments considered a strong asset.Job Type:
