Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties:
Performs field safety audits and makes recommendations for corrective actions as needed. Performs safety orientations for new hires as needed. Oversees random drug screening program. Manages company's comprehensive drug and alcohol program. Performs and/or assists with accident/injury/incident investigations to determine cause and possible prevent measures for future work of a similar nature. Assists with all OSHA related issues such as inspections, citations, hearings, etc. Performs field safety audits to ensure compliance with all OSHA, State, Local, and Company safety rules and regulations. Makes recommendations to management concerning disciplinary actions when safety violations occur. Reviews leading safety indicators for potential problem areas where additional safety training may be required. Assists with management of the transitional return to work program for injured workers. Attend safety related seminars, meetings, forums, etc. Assists or conducts all safety related training. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience/Qualifications Required:
o Minimum of 4 years' experience in the construction industry or a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health.
Job Skills:
Knowledge of Windows based software (Excel, Word) and any e-mail system. Detail oriented. Strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of handling confidential information. Able to perform climbing (extreme heights), crawling, heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and must not be claustrophobic.
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
