UC Health is an EEO employer. The Training Public Safety Manager leads, manages, tracks and develops training and educational needs and opportunities within the Public Safety Department. Acts and the commander of the UC Health Police Academy, Coordinates the Field Training Program for new hires with the Public Safety Department. Provides direct support to the System Public Safety Director to ensure consistent, effective system-wide oversight and to address the operational demands of UCMC and WCH. Contributes to improved operational efficiency, enhanced responsiveness, and strengthened public safety leadership across the health system.
Job Functions:
Training:
Leads, manages, tracks and develops training and educational needs and opportunities within the Public Safety Department and serves as the UC Health Academy Program Manager. Coordinates the Field Training Program for new hires with the Public Safety Department. Responsible development, coordination of the in-service training program for Public Safety personnel. Conduct training needs assessments and identify skill gaps across departments Coordinate mandatory certifications, continuing education, drills, exercises, and recertification requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, accreditation requirements, and agency policies. Design and deliver classroom, field, and scenario-based training. Manage learning management systems (LMS), training records, attendance, and reporting. Evaluate training effectiveness using performance metrics, feedback, and operational outcomes. Coordinate emergency preparedness exercises and multi-agency training events. Research emerging public safety trends, technologies, and best practices. Prepare reports, policies, procedures, and documentation related to training operations. Ensure all training activities are conducted in accordance with safety standards and risk management protocols.System Management:
Provides direct support to the System Public Safety Director to ensure consistent, effective system-wide oversight and to address the operational demands across UC Health. Assumes designated areas of responsibility to enhance coordination, strengthen response capabilities, and ensure timely resolution and follow-up of security-related incidents.Leadership:
Support recruitment, onboarding, leadership development, and succession planning initiatives. Conducts Performance Evaluation and correction action as needed Supervise internal instructors, adjunct trainers, and external training vendors Develop annual training calendars, budgets, and resource plans. Bachelors Degree- Minimum Required | OPOTA certification | 3
- 5 Years equivalent experience
- Minimum Required Experience managing departmental training programs in the law enforcement field.
