This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations while driving continuous improvement in workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and operational risk reduction. The SHE Manager will partner closely with operations, engineering, facilities, and leadership teams to implement and maintain effective SHE programs and management systems. Responsibilities Support implementation and maintenance of Safety, Health, and Environmental management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to company SHE programs. Manage compliance with OSHA, environmental, and other federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct SHE inspections, audits, investigations, and evaluations across manufacturing operations. Determine priorities for safety and health investigations and coordinate corrective actions. Develop and recommend engineering controls and process improvements to reduce workplace hazards and prevent injuries or illnesses. Administer SHE management practices in alignment with OHSAS 18001 andISO 14000
standards. Prepare reports, findings, and recommendations related to safety, health, and environmental performance. Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve safety and environmental issues through collaborative problem-solving. Provide recommendations regarding equipment purchases, workspace planning, engineering controls, and operational processes. Communicate with regulatory agencies and support compliance-related interactions as needed. Identify training needs and develop SHE training programs for employees and leadership teams. Oversee SHE training development and delivery while serving as an internal subject matter expert. Review industrial hygiene sampling strategies and assist with interpretation of results and development of corrective strategies. Analyze injury and illness trends and implement initiatives to reduce occupational risk. Collaborate with Operations, Facilities, Risk Control, and other departments to improve workplace safety performance. Develop and implement SHE policies, procedures, and programs that align with operational goals and regulatory requirements. Support the design and planning of facilities and processes involving hazardous materials or hazardous operations. Lead or support safety committee initiatives and broaden engagement in SHE activities across the facility. Provide leadership updates and reports on safety, health, and environmental performance metrics and initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Working knowledge of federal and state Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations. CSP certification preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM). Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience with emergency response programs and incident command systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex safety and environmental challenges. Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple projects effectively. Strong communication, presentation, and training abilities with experience engaging employees at all organizational levels. Experience leading or supporting continuous improvement and SHE initiatives. Strong organizational, leadership, and collaboration skills.
