Dot and safety compliance Urban Express Charter - 3.2 Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time $17.00 - $23.50 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications Incident management Safety regulations Document review Risk & issue management Overseeing training Full Job Description The FMCSA and DOT Safety Director is responsible for overseeing the compliance and safety operations of the motorcoach fleet, ensuring strict adherence to FMCSA and DOT regulations. This position focuses on maintaining safety standards, managing risk, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS), Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, and vehicle inspections. Oversee the preparation and submission of required DOT and FMCSA filings, including audits, inspections, and certifications. Stay updated on federal, state, and local transportation regulations and implement necessary changes within the organization.
Safety Programs and Policies:
Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory and company standards. Conduct safety training sessions for drivers and staff on FMCSA regulations, defensive driving, and other key topics. Lead initiatives to improve driver and passenger safety, including addressing trends in accident or incident reports.
Fleet and Driver Oversight:
Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with inspection standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure motor coaches are in optimal working condition. Review driver qualifications, certifications, and driving records to maintain compliance and address performance concerns.
Incident and Risk Management:
Investigate and document accidents, incidents, and violations; develop corrective actions and preventative measures. Maintain accurate safety records, logs, and reports to be prepared for internal reviews or external audits. Serve as the primary point of contact for FMCSA and DOT-related audits, inspections, and inquiries.
