Summary Develop, organize, administer, and maintain MEAA's safety program in compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies to minimize the number, and reduce the severity of accidents and injuries while maintaining the efficiency of operations and the well-being of associates. Responsibilities Responsible for compliance with OSHA, EPA, local, and MEAA's safety regulations and policies. Audit operations to ensure that safety related policies and procedures are being followed by associates, and supported by management. Develop and conduct associate safety training, including new hire orientation, updates on safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. As a first responder, investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine cause and preventive measures. Facilitate post incident activities to determine root cause, develop and implement countermeasures. Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents. Report results in daily meetings, periodic team meetings, and as required to governing agencies. Create and implement improvement plans accordingly. Inspect the facility, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance. Conduct, or direct testing of air quality, noise, temperature levels to verify compliance with health and safety regulations. Work in cooperation with the Human Resources Department on matters related to Workers' Compensation and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related technical area, plus a minimum of six years' experience in safety administration in a manufacturing industry, or equivalent. Broad knowledge of OSHA regulations and reporting requirements. In depth knowledge of first-aid and life saving techniques, including CPR and use of a defibrillator Certified by the American Society of Safety Professionals, or Board of Certified Safety Professionals (or equivalent) in one or more of the following areas: Associate Safety Professional Graduate Safety Practitioner Certificate in Safety Management

Certificate Program Working knowledge of the
ISO-45001
safety standard. Verbal, written and cross-cultural communication skills, emphasizing presentation skills and effective training techniques. Analytical, computer, and mathematical skills.
