Job Title:
Safety Manager Job Description We are seeking to hire a Safety Manager to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs for a concrete and structural construction contractor, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. This role leads safety planning and training across multiple local jobsites, conducts regular inspections and incident investigations, and drives a strong safety culture through proactive communication, documentation, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Develop and maintain company-wide safety policies and procedures in alignment with OSHA and other applicable regulatory standards. Create detailed site-specific safety plans for each project, including fall protection strategies and elevated work platform protocols. Lead and document weekly toolbox talks and pre-task planning meetings to reinforce safe work practices and address project-specific risks. Conduct safety orientations for all new hires and ensure that task-specific training is completed before work begins. Organize and deliver ongoing safety training sessions, including topics such as rigging, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-dateOSHA 300
logs, safety training records, and employee certifications. Perform regular jobsite inspections to identify hazards, verify compliance with safety policies, and recommend corrective actions where needed. Investigate incidents and near-misses, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Ensure proper selection, use, inspection, and maintenance of safety equipment, including harnesses, guardrails, and rigging systems. Collaborate with project teams, field supervisors, and craft workers to integrate safety into daily operations and project planning. Communicate safety expectations clearly and consistently, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in safety performance. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in concrete, civil, or structural work. Proven experience developing and managing safety programs in a construction environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and regulatory compliance requirements. Deep understanding of fall protection systems and safe practices for working at heights. Knowledge of elevated work platforms and associated safety protocols. Rigging safety knowledge, including safe rigging practices and equipment use. Experience conducting safety training, toolbox talks, and safety orientations. Ability to maintainOSHA 300
logs, training records, and certifications accurately and in a timely manner. Hands-on experience performing jobsite safety inspections and hazard assessments. Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with field personnel, supervisors, and leadership. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and site visits within a weekly schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent safety certification preferred. OSHA 30-hour certification.OSHA 500
certification. Experience in safety management for concrete, civil, or structural contractors. Familiarity with safety procedures specific to construction environments. Ability to build strong relationships with project teams and influence safety behaviors positively. Comfort working both in an office setting and on active construction sites. Interest in long-term career growth, including opportunities for ownership and expanded responsibility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
