Role Overview The EHS Representative is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving the environmental, health, and safety programs across Chase Corporation's Pittsburgh, PA facilities. This role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a strong safety culture, and leads the implementation of EHS initiatives across the region. This is a multi-site role that requires strong collaboration with internal teams and external regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations, including hazardous waste, air emissions, stormwater, USTs, and DOT requirements. Conduct routine audits, risk assessments, and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and identify areas for improvement. Manage required EHS reporting, permitting, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Training & Safety Culture Develop and deliver EHS training programs, including in-person sessions to supplement online modules. Support a culture of safety through initiatives such as incident tracking, safety observations, and incentive programs (e.g., safety bingo). Ensure all mandatory safety and environmental training is completed and documented. Project Management & Continuous Improvement Lead the implementation and tracking of EHS projects and corrective actions across all assigned sites. Identify and execute safety and environmental improvement initiatives, aligning with corporate objectives. Engage with employees at all levels to reinforce a proactive, compliance-driven safety culture. Communication & External Engagement Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, handling both written and verbal communications. Collaborate with plant leadership and corporate EHS to align on goals, share best practices, and ensure program consistency. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of EHS experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards and practical experience applying them in a manufacturing setting. Strong background in chemical safety, environmental compliance, and hazardous materials management. Excellent consultative, problem-solving, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong follow-through. EHS certifications such as REM, ASP, or CSP are a plus. Working knowledge of
ISO 14001.
Education Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related sciences required (Bachelor's preferred).
