Job Description

Quaker Color, a specialty chemical manufacture is looking for a mid-career "hands-on" EH&S Site Specialist to support safety, regulatory compliance, and production within a manufacturing environment. In this role, you will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and leadership to ensure safe work practices, reduce risk, and safety culture across the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting workplace safety audits, developing and delivering safety training, and promoting best practices in occupational health.
  • Monitoring environmental health standards. Identifying risks, and implementing effective safety strategies to maintain a safe and compliant workplace environment
  • Oversee and maintain Safety Committee.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain environmental programs including waste management, emissions, stormwater, and chemical handling.
  • Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous wastes handling and storage.
  • Maintain environmental inspections and regulatory reporting.
  • Safety glasses and assigned uniform, steeled/composite toed work shoes are among the GMP and PPE required appeal that must be worn.
  • Accompany periodic inspectors and fire department officials on site.
  • Compile data and file all required reports to
OSHA, EPA, PA
DEP and local and international authorities, not limited to SARA 312, 313, AEMS, and NPDES.
  • Ensure the timely renewal of all permits required to operate the plant.
  • Handle issues arising from the transport of hazardous materials.
  • Manage emergency response teams needed to respond to emergency incidents that may occur on or off-site.
  • Assist Manufacturing Operations Manager when needed. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or scientific programs or relevant work experience in safety, environmental, health and regulatory affairs.
  • 3+ years of experience in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing and/or production preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and ERP software
