ESH Specialist

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a Safety and Health (S&H) Professional. This job function is responsible for oversight of Safety related programs and field support for both the R D as well as Operations and Facility/Construction work performed at SRNL. This position requires expertise and knowledge in Safety and Health regulations, site policies and procedures, and consensus standards to maintain compliant S&H programs at SRNL. This position provides leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in the functional area of S&H.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA + 7

Legally Required Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree and 7-10 years pertinent field experience Experience working with DOE preferred Certification such as Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred Advanced communication skills used to implement programs and work effectively with customers. Understands the role of the function and how it fits into meeting the goals of the laboratory. Expertise in S&H programs, regulatory drivers, and DOE orders. Does not manage employees, but may mentor and/or train subordinates. Initiates improvements in S&H programs by understanding the needs of the customers and implementation of efficient and effective programs and field support. Works safely with particular attention to quality. Complies with all policies and standards. Maintain appropriate level government security clearance.
