Inclusive Excellence Statement Advertised Job Summary The Education Abroad Office in Global Carolina seeks a professional Global Health & Safety Manager to promote the health, safety, security and well-being of students engaged in university-related international travel. The Manager creates processes and acts as a resource for students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators regarding health and safety while traveling abroad. The Manager also serves as an incident responder for emergencies involving USC's international travelers. Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) Preferred Qualifications- Experience living, working, or studying abroad.
- 1-2 years related experience in a relevant field such as study abroad, student affairs, emergency coordination, law enforcement, law, international travel and security, campus crisis management, and/or risk management.
- Experience developing or revising policies and procedures in a university setting.
- Experience developing emergency plans and coordinating international crisis response efforts.
- Experience designing and facilitating trainings, workshops, and orientation sessions.
- Advanced degree.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to remain calm in quickly developing and fluid situations.
- Strong understanding of study abroad operations, higher education, geopolitical matters and global security trends, risk assessment protocols, and emergency response coordination.
- Strong independent judgment, planning, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and exercise diplomacy during crisis resolution.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, tactfully with individuals at all levels.
- Strong written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability and discipline to handle confidential and personal information with discretion. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
