Job Description

About the Role As a Site Safety and Environmental Lead, you will serve as a pivotal member of the plant leadership team, driving a culture of operational excellence and regulatory compliance. You will champion risk mitigation strategies and lead comprehensive programs to ensure a secure, healthy, and sustainable manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Design and execute site-specific safety and environmental protocols, including machine guarding, hazardous energy control, and industrial hygiene standards. Direct the incident management lifecycle, from initial reporting and root cause analysis to the implementation of long-term corrective actions. Develop and deliver engaging training initiatives to ensure all personnel are equipped with the knowledge to maintain a safe workplace. Perform regular facility audits to identify hazards, track mitigation progress, and ensure adherence to OSHA and environmental regulations. Analyze key performance indicators to provide actionable insights to leadership, addressing performance gaps and emerging safety needs. Spearhead sustainability efforts, including waste reduction and emission tracking, to meet corporate environmental goals. Manage regulatory reporting requirements, including air emissions, hazardous waste documentation, and wastewater discharge monitoring. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of professional EHS experience within a heavy manufacturing setting. Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Deep understanding of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance standards. Strong analytical skills with a track record of successful root cause analysis. Preferred Skills Experience managing complex environmental permitting and reporting processes. Proficiency in data management and reporting software, including Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders. Certification in safety or environmental management (e.g., CSP, CIH).
