This role ensures compliance with company policies, as well as relevant federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations.Location and Travel :
Onsite near Abilene, Texas. This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be onsite at a project location. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US . In addition to your base salary, you'll receive a daily per diem to assist with living expenses while on assignment. This role includes regular rotational travel home from the job site. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs, policies, and procedures. Ensure that safety protocols are followed by all employees and contractors on-site. Identify at-risk behaviors and unsafe conditions and take immediate corrective action when necessary. Identify and understand any contractual requirements (Safety or SWPP). Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure workplace safety standards are being met. Provide training to employees on safety practices and emergency response procedures. Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports and recommend corrective actions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and ensure the organization is compliant. Responsible for project needs for safety supplies. Drive project team engagement. Communicate with client/ owner safety representative. Assist with any OSHA inspections. Conduct weekly safety meetings for project. Other duties as assigned Education and Work Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, or related field preferred 5+ years of proven construction safety leadership in utility-scale renewable energy projects CHST certification required Certified EMT/Paramedic preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Knowledge and experience with medium and/ or high voltage substations, collection systems, transmission lines, or battery energy storage (BESS) preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Take reasonable care of yourself and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the goal of zero injuries. Ability to demonstrate leadership, motivate workers and communicate with workers and superiors. Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Suite Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines. Ability to read and interpret documents like safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Communication and report writing. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
