This position supports the implementation and execution of safety programs, ensures compliance with environmental regulations, and promotes a proactive safety culture across the organization. Responsibilities Serve as the facility lead and subject‑matter expert for health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters, providing technical guidance and oversight to operations, supervisors, and employees. Collaborate cross‑functionally and build strong working relationships with all departments to promote engagement, trust, and shared accountability for a strong safety culture. Administer and support the
MOWI HSE
program, including new‑hire safety orientation, general safety training, safety committee, facility walkthroughs, hazard assessments, and incident investigations. Lead and document job hazard analyses (JHAs), hazard assessments, and risk evaluations, identifying unsafe conditions and behaviors and driving corrective and preventative actions. Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain and improve systems for tracking safety performance, incidents, hazard assessments, corrective actions, and environmental compliance metrics; analyze trends and recommend improvements. Conduct routine safety, housekeeping, and environmental audits and inspections to verify compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. Enforce safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, partnering with leadership to address non‑compliance and implement corrective actions when necessary. Manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements, including OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs, and maintain all required safety and environmental documentation. Support incident, and near‑miss investigations by leading root‑cause analysis and ensuring timely completion and effectiveness of corrective actions. Partner closely with Human Resources to support Workers' Compensation claim management, reporting, and return‑to‑work or modified‑duty programs Qualifications & Skills 1-3 years of progressive health and safety experience, preferably in manufacturing, food processing, or perishable goods environments. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management practices, hazard identification, hazard/risk assessments, and incident and near‑miss investigation techniques. Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, tracking, and closure of corrective and preventative actions resulting from audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations. Ability to serve as a facility‑level safety subject‑matter expert, providing guidance and support to leadership, supervisors, and frontline employees. Strong organizational and time‑management skills with high attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate safety records. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver safety training, influence safe behaviors, and collaborating across all departments. Proven ability to work independently while also building strong cross‑functional relationships to promote and enhance a positive, proactive safety culture. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to track safety data, generate reports, and monitor trends Education Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.- All requirements and skills are considered to be essential, unless otherwise indicated
