Job Description

​​​​When it comes to environmental consulting, we're focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We're seeking a Senior Health & Safety Auditor that will be responsible for planning and conducting health and safety audits to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and international standards. This role supports continuous improvement initiatives, risk reduction, and operational excellence across multiple sites. You'll serve as a technical specialist and lead for H&S Auditing. Based out of one of our US offices, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with local and global experts to ensure Jacobs provides best practice solutions to our clients. You'll prepare and deliver high quality reports and presentations to clients' technical and senior leadership in accordance with Jacobs' quality process. You'll apply your technical experience to develop delivery strategies and develop client relationships while championing safety, quality, and the well-being of your team. And, you'll master and promote Jacobs' solutions and technologies to internal and external stakeholders. This position requires travel to client sites and working at client facilities in addition to hybrid office work when working from the office. Bring your expertise in H&S regulations and auditing and desire to work on tough problems, and we'll empower you to deliver the boldest solutions for our clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous development and active engagement in professional networks, company communities of practice groups or similar
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Experience with small, medium, or large-scale client environmental consulting projects and representing clients to stakeholders including regulatory agencies
  • Experience leading H&S audits across multiple sites, including planning, execution, and follow-up
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA (and/or global equivalents) with strong working expertise in
ISO 45001
; ability to interpret and apply regulations in complex scenarios
  • Experience leading end-to-end audit programs, including risk-based audit planning and mentoring junior auditors
  • Proven ability to conduct and apply advanced risk assessments (e.g., JSA, HAZOP) to prioritize enterprise-level risks
  • Expertise driving systemic, sustainable corrective actions using structured methodologies
  • Ability to present findings to senior leadership, translate risks into business impact, and influence change across functions
  • Experience partnering with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to drive compliance and safety improvements
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Ideally, You'll Also Have:
  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
CSP, CIH, ISO 45001
Lead Auditor, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent
  • Experience conducting audits across international sites and regulatory environments
  • Hands-on experience with systems like Enablon, Intelex, Sphera, or similar
  • Advanced Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to analyze trends and drive insights
  • Experience in sectors such as manufacturing, energy, chemical, pharma, or construction
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or safety culture transformation initiatives
