Job Description
IPS Shelters is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive safety program for our modular manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building and managing the facility's safety culture, compliance programs, training systems, and operational safety processes. The EHS Manager will be expected to spend significant time on the production floor working directly with employees, supervisors, contractors, and leadership to proactively identify hazards, improve safety performance, and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable Texas safety requirements. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing, steel fabrication, construction, industrial assembly, or similar environments involving heavy materials, crane operations, powered industrial trucks, fall hazards, and high-risk activities. The EHS Manager will serve as the primary safety leader for the Denton facility and will play a key role in supporting future growth and expansion initiatives. Key Responsibilities Safety Program Development Develop and maintain the site's Environmental, Health & Safety Management System. Create and implement facility-wide safety policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and risk assessments. Establish and maintain a comprehensive employee safety training program. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing incidents and improving safety performance. Texas & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations and Texas safety requirements. Maintain awareness of evolving state and federal safety regulations affecting manufacturing and construction operations. Manage OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance activities. Support regulatory inspections and audits. Maintain required safety documentation, certifications, and training records. Manufacturing & Operational Safety Develop and maintain programs related to: Fall Protection Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Forklift & Powered Industrial Truck Safety Crane & Rigging Operations Critical Lift Planning Hot Work Safety Electrical Safety Awareness Contractor Safety Management PPE Programs Review and approve lift plans, including critical lifts. Conduct regular facility inspections and hazard assessments. Identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are completed. Floor Leadership & Employee Engagement Conduct daily safety observations and audits. Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre-task planning sessions. Participate in daily production and operations meetings. Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisors and production personnel. Build a culture where employees actively identify and report hazards. Partner with Operations leadership to ensure safety remains integrated into daily production activities. Incident Management Lead investigations involving incidents, near misses, and property damage events. Determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Track and report safety metrics and performance indicators. Present safety performance updates to company leadership. Quality & Process Support Assist with development of work instructions and operational procedures. Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. Help establish standardized processes as IPS Shelters continues to grow and expand operations. Qualifications Required Minimum 5 years of EHS leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial, steel fabrication, modular construction, or related environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs. Demonstrated experience developing safety programs, SOPs, JHAs, and JSAs. Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis. Experience with crane operations, rigging, material handling, and heavy equipment. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively on the production floor and in office environments. Preferred Experience working in Texas manufacturing or construction environments. Knowledge of Texas-specific safety and regulatory requirements. OSHA 30 Certification. ASP (Associate Safety Professional). CSP (Certified Safety Professional). CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician). Competent Person certifications related to fall protection, excavation, or rigging. Experience building safety programs from the ground up.
