We're a new global, vertically integrated low carbon fuels platform established to accelerate the development, production, distribution and commercialization of biomethane at scale across North America and Europe.
Position Summary:
Mobius Renewables is seeking an experienced and hands-on HSE leader to serve as the senior safety leader for our U.S. operations. This role will be responsible for standing up and leading a scalable Health, Safety & Environment program across a growing portfolio of RNG production facilities, construction projects, and operational sites. The Director, HSE will partner closely with operations, engineering, project development, and executive leadership teams to drive a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and establish best-in-class safety programs and processes across the organization. While the role includes environmental compliance oversight, the primary focus is operational and process safety. The ideal candidate is a field-oriented leader with deep industrial safety experience, strong Process Safety Management (PSM) expertise, and the ability to build programs in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead the company's
U.S. HSE
strategy, programs, policies, and management systems Build and standardize safety programs across multiple operating and construction sites Drive a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, hazard recognition, and continuous improvement Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives across applicable facilities Conduct and oversee risk assessments, HAZOPs, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action programs Partner with operations and engineering teams to mitigate operational and process safety risks Oversee contractor safety management, field audits, inspections, and safety training initiatives Support emergency response planning and crisis management preparedness Develop HSE metrics, reporting, and executive-level dashboards Support environmental compliance efforts related to air and water permitting in partnership with operations and external specialists Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, consultants, and outside resources as needed Support transportation and logistics safety initiatives; DOT experience is preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation required Minimum of 10 years of progressive HSE leadership experience in industrial, manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, renewable energy, chemical, or related environments Demonstrated experience building and implementing multi-site safety programs Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, worker safety programs, and industrial safety management systems Process Safety Management (PSM) experience required Experience leading HAZOPs, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action programs Familiarity with environmental compliance, including air and water permitting considerations DOT and transportation safety experience preferred Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Work Environment:
Position may be based in Pennsylvania or Texas Approximately 50% travel to operational sites, construction projects, and company locations across the U.S. Combination of office, field, industrial, and construction environments
