Hotard Shuttle is looking for an experienced Director of Safety and Training to elevate our safety standards and champion a proactive, safety-first mindset. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and Promote a
Safety Culture:
Act as a trusted advisor to management, promoting safety-conscious behaviors through expert-led training programs. Maintain and cultivate a safety-focused culture, elevating safety awareness throughout the organization. Serve as the go-to technical resource for compliance and safety inquiries. Partner with operations to ensure seamless communication and implementation of safety policies.
Lead Training Programs:
Develop and oversee comprehensive training programs for drivers, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Continuously assess and refine training content for relevance and effectiveness. Deliver targeted safety training to address specific challenges or incidents. Collaborate with Worker's Compensation partners to design accident prevention initiatives.
Ensure Compliance:
Act as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for managing drug and alcohol programs. Keep driver qualification files audit-ready and compliant. Oversee the proper maintenance of electronic and paper logs and compliance with FMCSA regulations.
Drive Incident Management:
Lead thorough accident investigations, implementing learnings and corrective actions. Serve as the key decision-maker for accident preventability. Promote accountability and ensure disciplinary actions align with company policies.
Additional Engagement:
Attend and contribute to industry events like the IMG Maintenance and Safety Forum and UMA Expo. Support maintenance teams to keep inspection and compliance records up-to-date.
YOUR SCHEDULE
As an exempt role, flexibility is essential. This position may require work during early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
CDL license with relevant endorsements and certifications Expertise in federal and state safety laws, particularly FMCSR standards. Exceptional communication and mentoring skills, capable of influencing safety behaviors. Strong team collaboration skills, especially in diverse and dynamic environments. NATMI Director of Safety certification is a plus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of proven experience in transportation management or safety leadership.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for vehicle compartment handling. Exposure to various weather conditions and environments, including vehicle facilities. Adaptability to working extended hours as business demands.
PAY & BENEFITS
Salary:
$85,000+ (Based on experience) Paid Weekly Medical- Great rate at only $27.23 per pay period for EE Only Coverage! Health Insurance (Eligibility the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment) Dental Vision
