The TxSSC serves as the clearinghouse for the dissemination of safety and security information through research, training, and technical assistance for K-12 schools and junior colleges throughout the state of Texas. As a result, Texas has become a national leader in school safety practices and is relied upon for assistance and guidance from jurisdictions throughout the nation. The TxSSC welcomes applicants for the position of School Safety Readiness Specialist who have extensive experience within an organization that serves at the local, state, or federal level. This position will also assist with ongoing research and development of best practices related to school emergency operation plans, specifically the development of EOP online training, toolkits, and resources for Texas school districts. The goal of these systems is to improve the overall safety and security in our educational environments across Texas. Job Duties A successful applicant will be able to conduct comprehensive reviews and verification of emergency operations plans for independent school districts, open-enrollment charter school districts, and public community colleges as required in Texas Education Code.
