Application Instructions Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction is looking for an Area Safety Manager to help lead and support safety efforts across heavy civil projects throughout the region. This is a hands-on, field-focused leadership role for someone who enjoys building relationships with crews, coaching field leadership, and helping drive a strong, proactive safety culture. Position Description What You'll Do Support and help lead safety efforts across multiple heavy civil projects Conduct site visits, audits, safety observations, and inspections Partner with project teams to identify and mitigate jobsite risks Coach field employees and leadership on safe work practices Assist with incident investigations and corrective action plans Help ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards Deliver and support safety training initiatives Build strong relationships with crews, superintendents, and operations teams Promote and reinforce a proactive, team-oriented safety culture
Position Requirements What We're Looking For Experience in heavy civil construction safety Ability and willingness to travel frequently to active jobsites Strong field presence and relationship-building skills Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices Ability to work collaboratively with operations and field leadership Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to travel to project sites as needed Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 500/510
certifications CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications Experience supporting roadway, excavation, utility, concrete, or infrastructure projects
