Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements. Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and safety evaluations to identify hazards and corrective actions. Partner with field leadership to assess risks and implement practical safety solutions. Develop and maintain site-specific safety plans as required. Training & Employee Development Conduct new hire safety orientation and ongoing safety training. Provide OSHA-related training and support employee participation in safety certification programs. Maintain training records and certification documentation. Facilitate First Aid/CPR, aerial lift, forklift, excavator operator, and other required safety training. Support foremen and supervisors through leadership and safety development initiatives. Incident Management & Compliance Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage events. Perform root cause analyses and develop corrective and preventive actions. Manage OSHA logs and required regulatory reporting. Coordinate workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes. Maintain insurance-related safety documentation, including EMR and insurance rating information. Jobsite Safety Oversight Conduct regular visits to active project sites to evaluate working conditions and ensure compliance. Monitor subcontractor safety performance and verify adherence to company and project safety requirements. Ensure hazards are properly identified, controlled, corrected, or eliminated. Support hazardous material management and asbestos awareness initiatives. Safety Administration Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation. Track and manage safety metrics, training records, inspections, and corrective actions. Complete and review pre-task plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and field safety reports. Assist in administering company safety recognition and incentive programs. Equipment & PPE Management Oversee PPE requirements and distribution. Conduct inspections of safety equipment and tools to ensure safe operation. Coordinate removal or replacement of damaged or unsafe equipment. Qualifications Required Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices. Experience developing and implementing safety programs in a construction environment. Ability to conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses. Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills. Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities. Ability to build relationships with field personnel, supervisors, and subcontractors. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between job sites. Preferred OSHA 500, CHST, ASP, CSP, or other relevant safety certifications. First Aid/CPR Instructor certification. Experience managing workers' compensation and insurance claims. Experience in commercial construction, mechanical contracting, or industrial environments. Physical Requirements Ability to access active construction sites, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work areas. Ability to walk uneven terrain and work in varying weather conditions. Ability to wear required PPE and perform field inspections in active construction environments.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
