Construction Safety Coordinator / Safety ManagerCommercial & Industrial Construction | Mid‑AtlanticThe OpportunityWe're supporting a well‑established construction contractor delivering commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the Mid‑Atlantic. This business is known for high standards, strong leadership buy‑in, and a genuine commitment to protecting people on site.
This is not a checkbox or desk‑only safety role. You'll be a visible, trusted presence in the field, empowered to influence outcomes, set standards, and drive a proactive safety culture across active construction projects.
What You'll Be Responsible ForDeveloping, implementing, and enforcing Site‑Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs)Ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1926 & 1910) and internal safety policiesConducting daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and corrective actionsLeading toolbox talks, orientations, and ongoing safety trainingInvestigating incidents and near misses, producing reports and preventative measuresPartnering with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clientsManaging safety documentation, permits, logs, and compliance recordsMonitoring higher‑risk activities such as energized work, confined space, lifting operations, and hot workEnforcing PPE usage, safe work practices, and emergency response preparednessWhat They're Looking For2-5+ years of construction safety experience (Coordinator or Manager level depending on background)Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and real‑world site applicationExperience producing and enforcing SSSPsConfidence leading safety meetings and influencing crews in the fieldStrong communication and documentation skillsComfortable working hands‑on across active job sitesRequired CertificationsOSHA 30‑Hour ConstructionFirst Aid / CPR / AEDFall Protection Competent PersonValid driver's licensePreferred (but not required)OSHA 510 or 500MEWP, Confined Space, Trenching/Excavation, Scaffold, or
