Submit your application for the opportunity below: Radiation Oncology Manager Job Summary and Qualifications Provides leadership and oversight of Radiation Oncology department operations, including clinical and business functions. Develops an annual operational plan (including scope of service) aligned with HCA/Sarah Cannon programmatic goals in collaboration with the COO/VPO or Administrative Oncology Director. Manages and supervises department staff, including scheduling, Kronos/timekeeping approval, PTO management, and staffing productivity. Develops and maintains a staffing plan aligned with operational needs, projected volumes, and regulatory requirements; ensures adherence to the plan. Develops, implements, and periodically reviews departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with TJC, federal/state regulations, professional standards, and organizational requirements. Ensures adherence to safety protocols, infection control practices, and hospital policies. Continuously assesses and improves departmental performance through development, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs), including patient satisfaction, safety, quality, and outcomes. Maintains and utilizes data analytics for operational planning, regulatory compliance, and business decision-making. Reviews and manages departmental fiscal performance, including operating and capital budgets, expenditures, productivity, and implementation of corrective action plans. Collaborates with leadership in budget preparation, capital planning, and financial trend analysis. Oversees departmental operations including patient flow, documentation, equipment, billing/coding practices, purchasing, and overall efficiency. Enforces compliance with departmental processes to ensure consistency, efficiency, and high-quality care delivery. Monitors staff education, competencies, and ongoing professional development; mentors and coaches staff through change and performance improvement initiatives. Acts as a resource for staff problem-solving, conflict resolution, and employee relations concerns. Collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and hospital leadership to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care. Manages and resolves patient and family concerns to promote an excellent patient experience. Maintains open, effective communication with staff, physicians, leadership, and other stakeholders. Participates in leadership meetings, organizational committees, and cancer program/community outreach initiatives. Supports marketing strategies and program growth for Radiation Oncology services. Ensures operations are aligned with organizational mission, vision, values, and oncology service line strategy. Remains current on legislative and regulatory changes and leads implementation of necessary updates. Pursues innovation and best practices in Radiation Oncology and healthcare management. Facilitates and supports electronic health record (EHR) optimization and integration with applicable systems and departments.
Qualifications:
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Virginia or multistate RN licensure or RTT licensure preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Recent experience in a radiation oncology department with progressively increasing managerial/supervisory/lead roles.
