About the Role As a Safety and Environmental Lead, you will spearhead our commitment to workplace excellence by driving comprehensive health, safety, and environmental strategies. You will play a pivotal role in cultivating a culture of proactive risk mitigation and regulatory compliance, ensuring every team member returns home safely each day. Responsibilities Design and execute robust safety management systems that align with OSHA and EPA regulatory frameworks. Lead thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses to implement effective corrective actions and prevent recurrence. Facilitate dynamic safety training programs that empower employees to identify hazards and take ownership of their personal safety. Coordinate emergency preparedness initiatives, including chemical response drills and evacuation planning, to ensure organizational readiness. Partner with cross-functional leadership to integrate Human Performance principles into daily operational workflows. Manage environmental compliance reporting and hazardous material protocols to minimize the company's ecological footprint. Oversee the plant-wide Safety Committee to foster open communication and continuous improvement in safety standards. Provide strategic oversight for Workers' Compensation claims, ensuring efficient case management and employee support. Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field. 5+ years of professional experience managing EHS programs within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Deep technical expertise in federal and state safety and environmental regulations. Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Strong proficiency in data analysis and documentation software to maintain accurate compliance records. Preferred Skills Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Demonstrated experience in air permitting and advanced environmental compliance reporting. Prior success in leading large-scale safety culture transformations or behavioral-based safety initiatives.
