This 1st shift position will be responsible for performing field inspections, designing employee training programs, preparing detailed reports, and analyzing test samples. Our ideal candidate will be a qualified expert with an excellent understanding of environmental and natural sciences. All candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, with an aptitude for understanding and interpreting data. The goal will be to ensure our compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous environments. Essential Environmental Functions (but are not limited to):  Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.  Oversee field examinations and report hazardous locations and materials.  Maintain management information systems that identify the location of hazardous sites, chemical inventories, and complaint investigations.  Develop and recommend solutions to eliminate pollution and environmental hazards.  Design and implement effective employee training programs.  Collect and analyze test samples of soil, water, and air.  Perform research and report your findings on the current environmental conditions.  Prepare clear and detailed written reports about field inspections.  Implement spill prevention programs and hazardous waste regulations.  Conducts inspections of plant machinery and equipment to ensure environmental compliance.  Carry out industrial hygiene field measurements to verify levels of pollution at a workplace.  Keep management informed of the findings of all industrial assessments.  Carry out investigations to evaluate adequacy of ventilation, lighting, and other conditions required for employee safety.  Carry out research to identify corrective actions for indoor air pollution.  Coach employees on proper ways to adjust workstations to meet ergonomic standards.  Attend educational programs and conferences to increase job knowledge and skill.  Developing policies/procedures relating to HSSE; to include ensuring our organizational policies align with regulatory requirements.  Develop and drive activities with focus on key business metrics such as injury avoidance and regulatory compliance, with a strong emphasis on environmental.  Coordinating a Safety Committee, to include monthly/weekly walk-throughs of the plant site.  Maintains regulatory postings, i.e., OSHA 300 Log.  Create and maintain a safety Dojo, working closely with the training and HR teams.  Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operation of safety programs in a manufacturing environment.  Conduct hazard prevention analysis, to include submission and implementation of risk control countermeasures.  Develop communication systems with department managers for day-to-day EHS activities.  Capable of cross-functional communication with manufacturing leaders and Process Engineering to resolve safety and environmental issues in all areas.  Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis; facilitate the completion of reports; analyze incident trends; implementation of corrective actions; assure lessons learned are shared and preventive actions are closed and documented.  Conduct effective and appropriate EHS training in compliance with regulatory training requirements.  Regular attendance is required.
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
 BS degree in Industrial Safety or related field or equivalent experience.  5+ years industrial or manufacturing experience.  Knowledge of US environmental, health and safety regulations.  Requires independent judgment on problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendation in support of goals.  Organizational and project management practices as applied to the analysis, implementation and evaluation of programs, policies, and operational needs.  Able to create and modify documents in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).  Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.  Utilize leadership styles to maximize section resources.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.  Ergonomics, Fire Science, Industrial Hygiene experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
 CSP Certification, or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.  E-coat, Metal Stamping or Welding Experience.
Environment:
 Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.  Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.  Frequent use of stairs, ladders, bending, lifting, reaching, squatting to perform equipment or facility inspection.
